Jan Janes – Sad News
It is with profound sadness that the Welsh Springer Spaniel Club of South Wales announce the passing of our Club President Mrs Jan Janes earlier today (14/05/25).
Jan was very well known throughout the dog show world and was a founder member of the Welsh Springer Spaniel Club of South Wales and together with her late husband Barrie held the Coedybrain affix for some 50 plus years.
Coedybrain, – was a kennels where Jan insisted that “breed type” was of paramount importance. Jan owned, bred and showed Welsh Springer Spaniels for over 50 years – gaining five UK Show Champion titles and two overseas Champions. There have been many Best in Show Winners at the WSS Club Shows and in 2009 was the top WSS Breeder.
Jan's knowledge and dedication to the breed was unsurpassed and she will be very sorely missed by all who knew her in the Welsh Springer Spaniel community.
