YOUR JUDGES

Dogs Judge – Mr Roland Webb (Speechouse)

richard morris 2016Mine and Bev’s involvement in showing dogs started in 1977. Our main breed was the Cocker Spaniel, with which we had some success. After having a few animals with RCC's, the culmination was the achievement of our first champion, SH CH Speechouse Sault Ste Marie.

In the late nineties, with sister Jan already embedded in the lovely Welsh Springer Spaniel it was inevitable that we would be coming home with the lovely Wainfelin Melys at Speechouse. Barbara was best puppy in breed at her first CH show WELKS under the late Basil Mullens (Athelwood), then her next big one was the RCC under Lesley Tain (Taimere) at National Gundog. We had one litter from her hoping for a bitch puppy but it was not to be as her four pups were all males. At that time we had several Cocker boys already.

Later on we had a Flatcoat Retriever, who took the Best Puppy in Breed first time out in the ring at Midland Counties. However, he much preferred to be tearing the washing off the line to being in the show ring.

We retired from showing and breeding in 2006, due to Bevs health, but we have both judged Cockers and Welsh Springers at home and abroad several times. I have been given the honour of judging Cocker Spaniels at Crufts in 2027.

I would like to thank the WSSC of South Wales for inviting me to judge the breed. I am very much looking forward to my day and would like to wish everyone an enjoyable day.

Roland Webb

Bitches Judge - Mrs Jane Graham - (Nyliram)

jan rees 2024My love of dogs goes back to my childhood but I wasn’t involved with Dog Showing until I met my husband Tom. Since then our dogs have played a huge part in my life.

Currently we have four Welsh Springers, a Sussex Spaniel and I co-own a German Shorthaired Pointer.

Our kennel to date has won 327 Challenge Certificates with 26 Show Champions in the Gundog group. I started judging at Open Show level in 1999 and first awarded Challenge Certificates for Welsh Springer Spaniels in 2010. I also award Challenge Certificates in German Shorthaired Pointers, Sussex Spaniels, English Springer Spaniels, Cocker Spaniels, American Cocker Spaniels, Clumber Spaniels & Field Spaniels.

I am looking forward to judging bitches at your Club Show in September and would like to thank the Committee for the invitation

Jane Graham
