CHRISTMAS GATHERING
Dog Walk and Buffet Lunch ~ Saturday 6th December 2014
OXWICH BAY, THE GOWER, SWANSEA
Some members had very successful group beach walks during the summer which the dogs enjoyed so much we thought this would be the ideal Christmas treat for them.
We will meet at Oxwich Bay Hotel car park at 10.45 am
the hotel will be open for us to have a hot drink and use the loos before we take the dogs for a walk along the beautiful Oxwich Beach towards Three Cliffs where there is a river for a bit of freshwater swimming.
Low tide is at 12 noon so there will be plenty of beach for the dogs to race around and, of course, there's some great sand dunes there too. People can do as much of the walk as they want or stay in front of the pub's log fire.
Buffet Lunch at Mary Evans' House at 2.00pm
After the walk there’s a welcome back at Mary Evans’ house, at the Mumbles, where Swansea based committee members will provide hot cawl (including vegetable version) and crusty bread, mince pies, tea and cakes. The garden is safely fenced if you need to let your dogs out of your cars again (please pick up) or there’s a park just outside the gate.
As in previous years we’ll have a doggie bran tub – so can you please bring along a dog gift (no more than £2.50) for the dogs to choose their own Christmas present.
Depending on weather, length of walk etc. we intend to gather at Mary's house at about 2pm. We'll give you directions to Mary's on the day or if you intend to only join us at Mary's please contact us for directions.

Please make sure you dress appropriately for the weather and terrain.
If you are using SatNav, the postcode of the hotel is SA3 1LS – which takes you to the centre of the village, so make sure you look out for the sign to the hotel.
Parking at the Hotel is free as long as you buy something there.
The public car park before the hotel is £4.50 for the day so we certainly recommend the hotel car park.
